Join the North Shore Group for the 2026 Walks and Talks programme at the Ku-ring-gai Wildflower Garden. Be guided by members of the Australian Plants Society to learn about our wonderful native plants. No booking required - just turn up at Caley's Centre on any of the dates below. All sessions finish by 12:30 pm. There is no fee.

All talks have an ID focus. No prior knowledge is required and information sheets will be provided. All walks associated with talks are easy. Longer walks may include some climbing. For walks please wear a hat, bring water and wear suitable footwear. Sunscreen and insect repellent are recommended.

Meet at 9:45 am at Caley's Centre, Ku-ring-gai Wildflower Garden. Sessions run from 10:00 am to about 12:30 pm.

Monday 29 June - Walk to Showground (a longer walk - take lunch)

Term 3 - Spring

Monday 20 July - Introduction to Plant Families 

Monday 27 July - Grevilleas and Hakeas 

Monday 3 August - Heath Plants 

Monday 10 August - Acacias and Wattles 

Monday 17 August - Rutaceae (including Boronias and Eriostemons) 

Monday 24 August - Euphorbiaceae and Other Plant Families 

Monday 31 August - Pollination and Other Insect Activity 

Monday 7 September - Native Pea Plants

Monday 14 September - Walk, Waratahs and Family Proteaceae 

Monday 21 September - Callistemons (Bottlebrushes) and Melaleucas

No meetings 6 and 13 July (School holidays)

Term 4 - Summer

Monday 12 October - Walk, Leptospermums (Tea-trees), Baeckeas, Kunzeas

Monday 19 October - Walk, Mueller Track (a longer walk - take lunch) 

Monday 26 October - Sedges and Rushes 

Monday 2 November - Grasses Monday 9 November - Gum Trees (Eucalypts) and Mistletoes

No meetings 28 September and 5 October (School holidays)
