Updating vegetation maps for Sutherland Shire

Sutherland Shire Council has recently updated natural vegetation mapping across the Shire to align with NSW Government Biodiversity Assessment requirements. This mapping helps meet the goals of biodiversity conservation across the Shire, with a focus on predicting Koala habitat. 

Botanical consultant Dan Clarke will explain how he did rapid survey plots across the Shire to determine best-fit Plant Community Type for patches of bushland observed and sampled. He will provide an overview of the work and underlying concepts, as well as some exciting observations.
