Northern Beaches - Walk: North Head Sanctuary TIME CHANGE

This will be a plant identification walk around the Sanctuary.

STOP PRESS! Due to wet weather, we will now lunch first then walk.

Lunch 12 noon, meet at the Bella Vista Cafe.

Walk

It is interesting to see the regrowth following the fire in October 2020. There are swathes of Flannel Flowers and the Banksias are looking magnificent.

The walk will be in two parts - a 500m circuit of Eastern Suburbs Banksia Scrub followed by a 2km return walk through the Hanging Swamp. When Anne did her pre-walk, the swamp was alive with beautiful dragon flies, croaking frogs and black ducks. Because of the fire it is now easier to understand the topography of this unique area.
